::LYJ Restaurant @ Sg. Buloh::

LYJ Restaurant. I'd been brought here twice due to work, and I found that the dishes are quite special. During the last CNY, the colleagues had proposed to come here for the famous 'Pun Choy', but we didn't manage to get the booking, thus skipped it. And now, when the BF ask to suggest some special place for family, I suggested here :)
Note that the price might be above average, but still worth a try.
Ginseng soup in teapot RM26. We find this method to be unique as the tea pot can help to keep the soup warm, thus we don't need to immediately finish the soup once it is serve.
By this way, slowly drinking the soup one cup by one cup, you won't feel too full too fast.
This is the meats taken out from the tea pot.
Steamed tilapia RM32. From testing, we conclude that this fish is soaked in hot salt water before steaming, as we find that the salty taste is well distributed. Not sure about that though. The specialty of this fish is actually the green sauce. Tasted a bit of sweet, sour and spicy, it is really appetizing. Somehow, I felt that this dishes is too pricey.
Braised pork ribs RM24. This is nice too!
Paku pakis salad RM15. The specialty of this is it's cold (it's a salad, of course), and the sour taste is appetizing. But also, it's overpriced.

As I mentioned, this place is quite pricey, but it's worth a try. We agreed that the dishes are special in a way.

::Pun Chun Noodle House@Bidor::

After the hot spring session, we stop by Bidor to try the famous duck noodles. I noted that they have branches in KL, but yet to try any of them.
The very nostalgic feel restaurant. It's almost 3pm, but it is still very crowded and we have to wait for our table.
"Wu Kok" which cost RM1.70 each. It is sold non-stop! Vice versa with the money that goes into the pocket of this uncle. Kaching kaching~~ way faster than what I earn sitting in office.
This is delicious. Crispy at the outside, and warm meat inside.
After waited for quite some time, they told us the famous duck noodles were sold out. *disappointed!* So we order some other noodles. Herb duck noodles.
Braised chicken feets noodles. Recently I kinda attracted (not addicted yet) to have chicken feets when the colleagues mention that it contains collagen and is good for our own leg. (LOL!)
Dry herb ducks noodles.
Overall, I would say that the noodles tasted just normal. Maybe someday I will drop by their KL branch to try their famous duck noodles.

::Tuck Kee Dim Sum @ Kepong::

So, there it is.. gone another long holiday.
Time passes so fast. This holiday, I did not have any special trip. At the very last minute, we decided to hop to Sungkai Hot Spring for one day trip. As usual, we kick start our trip with breakfast and being in Kepong, the choice will always be Tuck Kee Dim Sum @ Taman Maluri.
As far as I can remember, this is the only dim sum place the bf ever brought me to in Kepong.

Had always love the porridge.
This and the one below is SOP for the bf. It is a must for him to order when ever we are having dim sum.
All these with a pot of 'Kok Poh' tea cost 4 of us RM30.60. Quite reasonable.

:: Ola Barbecue @ Solaris ::

I'd always love Korean BBQ. Don't ask me why. Don't ask me what's the difference from this restaurant and that restaurant too. It's all taste the same though. It's just that I love BBQ-ing the thinly slice meat and roll it with vegie and the side dishes and poof it in my mouth. XD

This time, I bought a 50% discount voucher (RM25 for RM50 value) from Living Social. And here we are, at Ola Barbecue @ Solaris, Damansara.
Love the garden theme and the table that are not close to each other, giving more personal space.
We realized that every time we had Korean BBQ, we will skip the drinks part because they provide free empty water. This time, we want to splurge a little, so we ordered rice wine at RM30. First sip tasted OK to me, there after, I don't think I can accept it. Simply because I don't take alcoholic drinks :)

Ours!! Whole table fully filled   XD
We ordered Hunje and Pork (Smoked Duck and Pork) RM70 for 1-2 pax. Initially I was a bit disappointed that the portion is so little. The owner told us that this is a very healthy meal, because the meat had been smoked to remove all the fat and oil.
But actually in the end, the portion just fit well. Total bill comes up to RM110 (10% service charge). With the voucher, we paid RM60. Thus in actual, we paid RM85. With the rice wine, this price is normal for a Korean BBQ meal.

.: Ocean Seafood Restaurant @ Tj. Sepat :.

I came here once, one year + ago.That time I was so impressed that the price is so cheap (compare to what I can get in KL). So, for this trip, I planned and did come here again. But too bad, this time I'm disappointed.
Ocean Seafood Restaurant, that located just beside the 'Lover Bridge' in Tanjung Sepat.
View from where we sit.
Fried fish (edible bone) RM18. This is something new to me. Taste OK. Just like fried sotong.
Pan oyster with egg RM18. This is OK.

Salty Egg Crabs RM42. This is not tasty as I expected it to be. It doesn't taste like salty eggs at all. More to like normal egg + salt. Disappointness..

This time, the price shocked me. It doesn't sound cheap to me anymore, as I can get this price in KL as well. The taste of the foods doesn't impress me much as well. Perhaps we ordered the wrong combination of foods.

::Gold Coast Morib::

A short relax trip to Gold Coast Morib. I'm pretty sure, you all can see the promotion of this being advertise all over the discount web - Groupon, Street deal, Living social etc. etc. It's like something suddenly bombarded out on all these discount web. Working in 'Quality Complaint Dept' has turned me into someone skeptical about something, and not to mention, the queen of complaints! Before I actually went there, I already heard some complaints from my coliqs who bought the same voucher and went 2 weeks earlier before me. Maybe it does indirectly affected my judgement, but after being there myself, I would want to clarify - all the complaints given by my coliqs is true.

If you intended to drop by here for a short trip, please bear the check in  process. The receptionist are very not efficient and professional. I guess they are not well trained.
When we first make reservation 1 month before, they took our name and contact number. Not thinking too much, assuming that this is it, a very simple reservation process. A day before the trip, we called to reconfirm our booking, they requested for reservation number. We told them we are not given the number, so OK, after much hesitation, they give it to us.

When we went for check in the next day, apparently the reservation number is not valid, and there is no reservation for us. They then insisted for the person who took our booking for their investigation. What? Ok, so this is something I never thought of. I never practiced requesting for the name of the person who took any booking I did, because I expect them to be professional enough to handle my bookings, not to expect me to need to help for their investigation. But hey, that's your internal problem! You should settle our problem whom standing here waiting and all the peoples who are queuing up behind us! We don't pay to stand here waiting and bearing your un-efficienness!

But yeah, during the queuing up and waiting process, apparently not only us having problem. Within that 45 minutes, we get to watched '4 dramas' of customers vs receptionists. 4 different issues with 4 different customers. I felt so doomed and at the wrong place.

Anyhow, they still end up giving us a room, although initially they claimed that it's all fully booked. But it's not like I'm going to leave if they don't give us one. We did our reservation and it's not our fault that they didn't recorded it.

While on the way to our room, I observed that they are still doing the room service for the batch that checked out at 12pm. It's already 4pm and still doing cleaning. A bit slow on that, isn't it? And that's one of the reason, it's so messy at the receptionist, cause the rooms are not ready.

Positive comments: the room is spacious and clean. After the nightmare experience during check in, I felt more relax and comfortable when I reach our room.

The view from our room.
Inside.
The jacuzzi.
Another complaint: why only 1 toothbrush set? Although logically people will bring their own, but as a matter of courtesy, I think they should provide at least 2 toothbrush sets!
Found out they have this place where you can drink and sing k at night. Looks not bad.
But we didn't went there.
We brought our own and enjoy it at our balcony, chit chatting. The environment at The Pier is too noisy with people singing. I prefer a quiet getaway :)

Conclusion: Be patient during check in. And I mean like very very very patient. Else, yes, please proceed to go have some drama with the receptionists. I believe they need it for their improvement sake. And remember to get your reservation number and THE NAME OF THE STAFF who takes your reservation.
