.:3D 2N Sungai Lembing Trip:.

3D2N Sungai Lembing Trip.
This trip has been planned for more than a year. We suppose to went on last year, but due to late (2 month before the date is consider late) booking of hostels, we had to cancel the plan as the accomodations is full. So this year, we planned like 4 month in advance before Hari Raya. Exaggerating, I know .. but it's true!
It took us 3 hour drive from KL to reach Kuantan and our first destination was Sg Pandan Waterfall .. which .. is closed! As it is the first day of Hari Raya. A lil disappointment there.
Route: First follow the By-Pass highway, from the Highway Route 2 to Panching. This is an insignificant township outside the hills of Sungai Lembing town. Half way along this road, watch for a signboard for the quarry. It also marks the entrance to the waterfall as well. From here, it is another 9 kilometers to the waterfall. The waterfall lies within the Berkelah Forest Reserve. Just before reaching the fall, you will see a special nursery of this Forest Reserve.
It's OK. We the proceed to our second stop in our itinerary .. Gua Charas. To reach here is a bit confusing. Route: Just a little distance down the road, about 12 kilometers away from the Pandan Falls, in the direction towards Sungei Lembing, there is this grotesque looking limestone outcrop. Take the road that leads to the entrance of the Chinese Temple. The road is 4 kilometers long and it goes in circle around the palm oil estate to circumvent the karst hills. Reaching the caves opening facing east. You need to climb about 200 cemented steps to reach the lower cave. It is lighted up and houses a statue of sleeping Buddha. [Take note of a police station and a sharp T-junction. Turn in at that sharp dangerous junction.]

The interior of Gua Charas. :)

We then depart to Lembing Town to have our lunch and check in to our hostel. :)
Not knowing where to have lunch, we just stop by at the food court. It's almost 3pm and the food court is crowded with people and we waited and waited for almost an hour for our foods to be serve @@ The foods is not nice despite our hunger.

After check in our hostel, we depart to Kuantan for dinner.
Accomodation: Sungai Lembing Rest House. Contact Mr Lee at 0169238639.
All the 9 of us is place in a same room. Amazing right? The room consist of 5 double decker. Toilet is share-toilet among all the backpakers. A bit sempit but overall it is very clean. *I don't like the toilet tho* It cost RM20each/nite. Very cheap indeed :)

We had our dinner at Pak Su Seafood restaurant at Kuantan. This restaurant is located opposite the place where they have the movie wohoo being recorded. Although the restaurant is quite big, but most of the tables had been reserved and there is just so a lot of people inside it! @@It face the sea too. Nice one although the sea doesn't look 'healthy'. And we had this :) I couldn't remember the price but to be assured, it is not cheap! The crab cost RM58/kg, I remember that cause I feel that it is overprice isn't it?
We then went for a night walk at Teluk Chempedak. A very nice one :)
That's it for our first day.
We begin our second day by waking up at 5am. After a quick breakfast at the same Lembing foodcourt, we then start our hike at around 6am. The road is so crowded and basically we 'crawl' up as the traffic is just like 'KL road after rain'. We need to stop and wait and walk and stop and wait and walk. Phew~ Lucky we made it uphill before sunrise. The hill is flock with sooo many people! @@

Group photo :) People mountain people sea! After rolling down the hill, we headed back to the town, to find out no breakfast left!
So we que for like almost an hour for this chee cheong fun and roast pig - special but not to my favour. Sorry, I'm a picky eater. Hehe..

After had our short nap, we headed for lunch at Hover Restaurant @ Lembing Town. Nice proper foods finally. *although not so proper after all* We then go around the tiny town for photo session.
The crystal house. The Hanging Bridge.

We then decided to go back to Kuantan for a dinner. And on our way there, we stop by Jin Loong Temple. We walk from the tail of the dragon and come out from its mouth. This is believe to change bad luck to good luck. Mind you, the dragon is very very long. Hehe..
There goes our Day 2.

Day 3. We woke up, had our milo and depart to Rainbow Waterfall!

Morning view of Lembing Town :)
Very serene :)
On the way to Rainbow waterfall. Yep, you will need to rent a 4wd drive - with a driver of course, that will fetch you to the hiking point. It's about 1 hour ride with nice natural view. :)

Contact Mr Si Kong at 0199226818. Nice experience! Hehe.. The waterfall!~ Saw the rainbow? Very very nice! The not nice part is this.. Again .. people is everywhere! The cost for 4wd rental is RM35 each which provide, 1 hour 4wd ride to the hiking spot, lead for hiking about 30minute to the waterfall and and and .. maggie cup + milo! This is so cool. The maggie taste much nicer at the waterfall. Dono why. Hehe..

After spend about 2 hour there, we then head back to our hostel, clean and pack up and had the lunch prepared by the hostel owner before heading back to KL. All these home made foods cost RM10 each = RM90. Nice home cook foods ^^

End of our trip. A very nice trip indeed. A memorable one :)
