Taang Shifu @ 1 Utama

To celebrate his mom birthday, we bought Groupon cash voucher of RM100 for RM200.
Just to try out something premium a bit :)
Emporer Chicken RM16.90. This is quite special and quite nice.
Taang Shifu signature soup RM38.90. Quite mild taste also.
Stir fried french bean with Pu èr. This is quite special although the Pu èr taste is quite mild. RM15.90
Snow Mountain Lotus with Black Chicken soup. RM38.90. Don't get cheated by the chicken. It's only half chicken. The taste of the soup is too mild.
Cordyceps flower & Japanese Mushroom with sliced Pork RM38.90.
Nah, the one at normal restaurant tasted better. This is very normal.

4 bowl of rice cost RM6.
Total damage include a pot of tea (RM12.90) is RM199.75
If not because using cash voucher of RM100, I will ranked this super expensive.
Perhaps my tastebud was trained to take stronger taste/ flavour foods (talking about growing up in Malay society with sambal, nasi bryani and stuffs); I find the taste of the above meal quite plain.
Nonetheless, worth an experience try.

Kaffe Cafe @ TTDI

I bought this from Groupon. All-Day Big Breakfast Set at Kaffe Café, TTDI for RM25 for 2 People.
I love hanging out in cafe; slowing my pace; enjoying a cup of coffee and a slice of cake; chit-chatting with love ones :)
The environment in here is quite cozy; just that the table and chair is not too comfy.
Hazelnut Latte
Mocha. My favourite!
And we get 2 sets of this.
For RM25 for 2 pax, it is worthy as coffee itself already quite pricey.
But if I paid the normal price of RM66 for this sets, I will think it is quite pricey as the raw materials to prepare above breakfast set is not too costly. Well, of course when doing business, you have to take other factors into consideration such as electrical, rental etc.
Anyway, back to the foods.. The bf doesn't enjoy it though when he found out that the sausage, ham and pepperoni is beef. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my meal :)

Hanoi Day 4: Dinner @ Quan An Ngon

Returning from Halong Bay, we re-check in to Hanoi Guesthouse.
This time, they had upgraded our room to presidential suit.
Which is so spacious.
And there is bath tub!
From Hanoi Guesthouse, we requested the receptionist to call us a taxi. We took a taxi to Quan An Ngon; which cost 20,000VND.
Spring roll! Nice!
Grilled Pork with Bamboo Rice. Nice! The pork was nicely grilled and well marinated.
We call this cucur udang in Malaysia. Nicely flavored and fried with big prawn until very crispy! :)
Beef Pho. The broth was nice too!
Vermicelli with pork slices and bamboo shots.
And the famous Vietnam pancake. Nice.

I couldn't recall the price of each item, but for the above and with 4 glass of juices; total bill comes up as 475,000VND (include 5% tax); which is very cheap.
The foods is so delicious that if we stay here longer, we would patron this shop few times.

Hanoi Day 3 & 4: Halong Bay

Day 3 &Day 4 was spent on Halong Bay. We booked Halong Bay tour with Hanoi Guesthouse as well, cost USD95/pax for superior package. It took about 3 hours to arrived to harbour before being transfer to our junk and sailed out to Halong Bay.
Arriving harbour. It's drizzling and very cold!
Our Junk - The Fantasea - which we will spend 2 day 1 night here.
The room was a bit small but considering this is on a junk .. so it's OK.
The bathroom. The hot water is so limited and water pressure is very small especially when everyone on board having shower on the same time. So, remember to be fast.
After lunch, we were brought to cruise around the Bay.
We hike up to the Sung Sot cave.
Inside the cave.

We then stop at another spot for small hiking to catch a breathtaking view.
After the hike, we were supposed to stop by the beach to have leisure swim, but due to the weather is so cold, all of us agreed to skip it.
We then proceed to kayak activity to enjoy the view. It is really mesmerizing. It's a regret that I too obey the rules of no camera. I missed out taking the breathtaking view :(
On day 4, our junk did not stop anywhere. We cruise around the bay, enjoying the view on the junk itself.
The view is really nice, especially on the cold weather and a bunch of friendly and entertaining junk-mate :)

Hanoi Day 2: Dinner @ Thai Dat BBQ & Countryside

Once our tour bus arrived Hanoi City, we requested them to stop us at Xoi Yen, local restaurant famous with sticky rice. But luck was not on our side. The shop had closed.
So we walk around. We saw this BBQ stalls and a lot of patrons. So we decided to give it a try.

We do not know the price of the stuffs, so we do not dare to pick too much foods. Although most of the sticks look so tempting.
We picked a few, pass to the waitress. They will grill for us half cooked before pass it back to us to grilled it fully cook. We enjoyed this a lot. BBQ with a glass of local beer  :)
Total bill come up as VND275000! Which is RM48. Just for that few things in the picture.
Due to not feeling full enough, we wonder around and stop by Countryside Restaurant.
We ordered Chicken Pho. Nice!!
And grilled pork Bun Cha. This is sooo nice too!
Total bill for this 2 set is VND245000 = RM42; includes 4 glass of fruit juice. Price is OK. Not too cheap but not too expensive.
