Hinz Cafe @ Kepong

Another coffee fix day.
Dropping by a nearby cafe in Kepong.. Hinz Cafe.
I had tiramisu. RM10.
They offer 2 type of tiramisu which is the traditional type and the modern type.
I opt for the traditional type as he explained that the modern type consists of more cake rather than cream.
Nice!
Smoked duck aglio olio.
The spaghetti was kinda soft. Cook too long perhaps. And it's a bit salty. Not too nice.
Hot Mocha. RM9.
Not to my liking. Milk contents made me nausea.
Latte. So-so too.

Restoran Robson Heights @ KL

Located at foot hill of Thean Hou Temple, I believe this restaurant is always one of the best option for ROM appreciation lunch. We too opt for this restaurant as it is the most convenient.
To cater for 10, we had ordered..
Their signature claypot crab rice. RM65. With one crab in it.
Sad to say, the rice does not have the taste I had expected (crab juice taste?). It's just like any other normal claypot rice. The crab was very fresh though.
Tofu RM20. Nothing to shout about.
Pork ribs RM49. This cost RM7/ ribs and we had 7 ribs.
Another signature dish of them. Meat floss brinjal RM25.
And this fish cost RM99. I actually had no idea what fish is this. LOL.
But it was very fresh and the meat was very tender. Nice.

Overall, this meal for 10 cost RM295.50. Which is not too expensive but not too cheap either.

Chye Seng Huat Hardware @ Tyrwhitt Road, Singapore

Located just opposite our hotel, we didn't recognize this place as cafe initially. Until on our last day in Singapore, we are curious with the board that read 'You read better with coffee' and with that, we peek through the window.
Does the outlook look like cafe to you?
Furthermore, the nameboard carries the title Chye Seng Huat Hardware, thus we simply recognize it as hardware shop on the first place.
Anyway, we went inside. It looks very cosy inside and with coffee smells, that just put a smile on my face.
I had daily hot brew. S$3.
Italian breakfast. S$12. This is so yummy! But it had to be eaten immediately. As the bread absorb the bolognese sauce, it gets wet and not crunchy anymore.
Meat Mee. S$16. To be exact, this is turkey ham carbonara spaghetti. Once you had a bite of italian breakfast, this has no taste anymore.

Total damage for our breakfast = $S36.50.
An overspent Singapore trip.

For my birthday this year, LCL wanted to treat me to a fine dining. In Singapore.
And he purposely choose one in Singapore as when he choose one in Malaysia, my sixth sense would always tell me where is he planning to bring me.
So this time, his surprise really turn out as surprise, as himself also need to ask the info counter in Marina Bay, the exact location of this restaurant.
Located at level 57 of Marina Bay Sands, the view was breath taking.
And it is cold without fan.
Our drinks. Forgotten the name.
We begins with appetizer.
Grilled Prawn Salad S$22.
Consists of baby spinach, parmesaan, dried miso & truffle oil
The prawn was nicely grill. But the baby spinach was very salty that we didn't even finished it.
Soft shell roll. S$26.
Consists of daikon, asparagus, tobiko, sweet soy sauce.
Seared maguro tuna steak. S$33.
Tuna, buckwheat, cucumber, tosaka, chive. Nice! :)
Salmon roasted over charcoal. S$34.
Grilled salmon, chinese date, pickled daikon, orange butter soy. Nice too.
Goma cake. S$18.
Miso white chocolate, matcha ganaché, apricot jelly, black sesame powder.
The cake with the surprise. LOL.
I don't know is the real size of the cake is this small or is it because LCL requested.
Enjoying our night view. :)
A very surprise birthday gift indeed.
