Although we landed at Hat Yai on 12.30pm, after the immigration process, getting lost of where to get the minivan to hotel etc., we arrived hotel at almost 2pm. Starving!~
Before I proceed, let me share some information with you. To board the minivan to Hat Yai City Center from airport, once you step out from the airport door, immediately turn to your left side. A small counter located on the end of the left side, and you can purchase the minivan ticket which cost THB10 per person.
We thought of having chicken rice at Mui Kee Hainanese Restaurant. When we approach the tuk tuk, he told us that the restaurant already close as it is already 2pm. So he introduced us to a restaurant, claiming local people will have the chicken rice here. I'm too hungry, thus not bother to take note of the restaurant name. However, it was located opposite Ching Jie Restaurant which I will introduce later.
We ordered roast pork.
Steamed chicken.
And they introduce us a bowl of meatball soup. This soup was really disappointing.
Overall this meal cost us THB380, which shock us as for us, we can get cheaper in Malaysia.
While the taste doesn't satisfy our tastebud at all.
The only add point was the owner was friendly.
After our meal, he helps to call up a tuk tuk for us and told us that the charges is THB20 each for around city. Deng~ we were con earlier from our hotel to here, as the tuk tuk driver charge us THB30 each.
And on our second tuk tuk ride, we notice that there should be this price list on the tuk tuk.
I saw it in people's blog, but due to the blog was in 2013, i thought price had increased from THB20 to THB30. Apparently, no, it does not change yet although it is already 2016.
After our lunch, we walk around the city and about 5pm, we stop a tuk tuk to bring us to Asean Trade Market. Tuk tuk cost THB100 for 2.
Asean Trade Market was disappointing too. Nothing interesting there.
We then walk to Central Festival Mall. We walk the wrong path and we walk so long!
Finally we found the mall. And we decided to have our dinner here. After scooting around, we found that the foods in the mall was expensive! So we end up in food court for some Thai foods.
Luckily the Pad Thai (THB60) does not disappoint us.
Braised Pork Rice THB70. So-so.
Clean and spacious food court located at the top of the mall which enable us to have some night view.
From Central Festival, we took a tuk tuk (THB20 each) to Greenway Night Market.
Yet another disappointment as we did not manage to get anything here.
Since we are so tired of walking, we just call it a day.
