Perth, Western Australia

We are back! From Perth, Western Australia.
Never I thought I could make it to Western countries. Pricey is always there in mind whenever a thought of a vacation to Western countries cross over. But this time we made it! With only spending averagely RM3k per person for a 7 days 6 nights vacation.
We are back 2 weeks ago actually. I had so much to share that I don't know where and how to begin with. In the end, I narrate all the grandmother stories in my Facebook, complete with pictures of the whole journey. I had semi-private it. Nudge me if you need it :)

Anyway here are the short story to share with.

Day 1: Perth City - William Woolshed - Kojonup (Lunch at Black Cockatoo Cafe) - Albany (Dinner at HK Cafe, Stay YHA Albany)

Day 2: Albany (Mt. Clarence - The Brig Amity - The Wind Farm - The Gap & The Natural Bridge - The Blowholes) - Lunch at Hungry Jack - Choco Latte - The Toffee Factory - Walpole (Self Cook Dinner, Stay YHA Walpole)

Day 3: Walpole (Hilltop LookOut Point - The Giant Tingle Tree - Valley of the Giants) - Lunch at Fizz Cafe, Pemberton - Margaret River (Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, Self Cook Dinner, Stay YHA Margaret River)

Day 4: Margaret River (Mammoth Cave [did not enter], Jewel Cave [only the Interpretive Center], Leeuwin Estate, Voyager Estate, Lunch at Chicken Treats, The Fudge Factory, Bettenay's Wine and Nougat, Margaret River Chocolate Co. Providore) - Busselton Jetty - Perth

Day 5: Pinnacles and 4WD Sand Dunes

Day 6: King's Park - Bell Tower - Fremantle - Perth Night View

Overall, the this trip was too rush. Rushing from one place to one place, without really having chance to slow down our pace and relax. And some disappointment with the fact that there are few places we need to skip due to time constraint. Nevertheless, it was a very very very nice trip! I miss it already.

PayPal?

Current mood : Excited plus I know jakun.

Do you have any idea what's a PayPal? Maybe it's only me doesn't know. After a few round of asking around, by no avail, I couldn't get the answer I want - what's a PayPal?! How to register and use?! Is it safe?!

Finally got the answer and assurance I'm looking for from Malc. Although I don't really have the idea, but just try it out. Hopefully it's safe, else ... I don't know what will happen! *roll eyes**yea, I know I'm over-worry*

Let me briefly share what's a PayPal. It's some sort of payment intermediary service that facilitates worldwide e-commerce. *this is the only point I wanted. Want more? Read here.*

Get started. First of all, you need to go to here and register yourself. It's pretty simple. Just like opening a FB account. Then .. for my personal payment, before hand, I'd received a payment statement through email from my merchandiser, with a link. So, I just click on the link and the payment statement from PayPal pops out *and to luck, it's in English! Finally! After much confusion as the merchandiser used chinese. Faint!*, and I just need to check through my information, confirm it is correct and click 'pay'. And the next thing I know is, the receipt page pops out. As simple as that. It tooks less than 1 minute that I really feel curious, is it really that's all? Wao .. and yea.. few minutes later, my credit card company called to confirm did I make such payment, and yea .. I jakun-ly asked him 'It really works? That's all I need to do? So the payment is through?' .. And with his one single answer 'Yes' .. ok .. so I'm done? LOL! Nah, I think it is still better to wait for the confirmation of my merchandiser and to get my product first.

Pros : Ok, I jakun-ly tried something new. This is interesting. Must find out more. It's a chance to do online trading, you know?
Cons : OMG! This doesn't sounds good. With the technology of online shopping and now knowing I can do it worldwide. *strong wind blow by* .. I sounds like so-dead. Gosh ...

Happy Dong Zhi :)

Happy happy winter solstice to every one :)

Every year also celebrating Dong Zhi .. but do you know the meaning of this festival? Hrmm..
Frankly .. I don't. Excuse : Because I'm not chinese educated. LOL! Ok. Lame.

Extracted from Wikipedia :
The Dōngzhì Festival or Winter Solstice Festival is one of the most important festivals celebrated by the Chinese and other East Asians during the Dongzhi solar term (winter solstice) on or around December 22 when sunshine is weakest and daylight shortest. (i dont think this applies today. The sunshine is so bright shining through my office window right to my seat in which I felt like opening the umbrella to shed it. LOL)
The origins of this festival can be traced back to the Yin and Yang philosophy of balance and harmony in the cosmos. After this celebration, there will be days with longer daylight hours and therefore an increase in positive energy flowing in.

Traditionally, the Dongzhi Festival is also a time for the family to get together. One activity that occurs during these get togethers is the making and eating of Tangyuan (or balls of glutinuous rice) which symbolize reunion. Tangyuan are made of glutinuous rice flour and sometimes brightly coloured. Each family member receives at least one large Tang Yuan in addition to several small ones. The flour balls may be plain or stuffed. They are cooked in a sweet soup or savoury broth with both the ball and the soup/broth served in one bowl. It is also often served with a mildly alcoholic unfiltered rice wine containing whole grains of glutinous rice.

Yup yup yup!!~ So I'm off for family dinner and another round of tang yuan now. Yada.. till then .. sayonara ^^
Happy Dong Zhi everyone!!~ (what excited me is it marks that Chinese New Year is near d! One big excuse to shop and .. angpowS! =D )

Thoughts of the day :
1. 我想... 做好自己就好了. 很不想解释自己. 了解我的该会懂. 不了解我的, 我解释也没用. 丘佩颖... 真的 ... 做好自己就好了.
2. 爱只是爱. 伟大的爱情到头来也只是爱.

Sugar Sugar...

Today while looking for some information about sucralose.. I bump into this and the question the other day cross my mind. What's the differences between white sugar and brown sugar? Why is brown sugar better?

No need to explain, you all should know what is sugar right? Something be defined as sweet by our taste buds.

But do you know...?

Natural brown sugar or known as raw sugar is produced from the first crystallisation of sugar cane, and therefore free from additional dyes and chemicals. It contains higher mineral content, notably calcium, potassium, magnesium and iron. And this minerals comes from molasses. It also has slightly lower caloric value than white sugar due to the presence of water. That is why brown sugar is better.

BUT.. However, nowdays most of the brown sugar is produce by introducing molasses to pure white sugar due to better control of the color and size of the final product (business matters), and this color easily reveal by simple washing. This brown sugar do contains the minerals from molasses but the content is too micro that it doesn't make any differences. So..?! Why choose the expensive when the nutrient doesn't make big differences? Brown and white sugar = same. Unless you opt for natural brown sugar. (else you handmade yourself by sugar cane (: )

Come to sucralose.. do you know? I know you don't :p

Although I had been using sucralose as one of my raw ingredient in my experiment for such a long time, I never really thought about what is the real meaning of sucralose. (Yeah.. I don't do the research if I am not force to :p)

Sucralose is a derivate of sucrose (sugar) and taste 600 times sweeter than sugar. So the benefit of sucrose comes up to: you only need to use very little of it, it is not recognized by the body as carbohydrates and thus is zero-calories, it doesn't cause tooth decay and is safe for everyone.

Confused? I am so sure you all come across sucralose before as .. it is actually the artificial sweetener, a replacement of sugar, and is available in the supermarket. (er.. or maybe it is only me never come across this.. but it is due to I am too healthy and doesn't need to avoid calories and high sugar content stuffs to look for alternatives of sugar :p )

However.. the fact is sucralose (and the siblings of it: aspartame, saccharide, acesulfame potassium) synthesize from sucrose and appear to be inert metabolically (calories-free thus suitable for diabetic) might be stored in the body simply because this synthetic molecule is not found in nature and our body is not equipped to metabolize it.

Chemically, sucralose is produced by chlorinating sugar molecules, whereby 3 hydroxyl groups is substitute by 3 chlorine atoms. And we know that chlorin causes cancer! This chlorinated molecules actually accumulated in body fat and will come haunt the body many years later and it will cause autoimmune disease.

Research shows that currently stevia, from the leaves of Stevia rebaudiana plants, (you guys remember? the plant we learn in Cameron!) have the safest profile to replace sugar. But still it is best to try avoid too much of sweet stuffs (avoiding me is exceptional). Replace it with pure clean water instead.

Actually I got a long story to write but I left my organizer in the office and this article above is just based on what I remember. Hope I don't miss out the important points.. If I do, I'll update tmr! ;) ... So, to end up today's finding.. avoid chemical synthesized stuffs. It is not so proven to be safe to our body system. Interesting finding. Tomorrow research will be about menthol.

Update tomorrow if got the info ;)

Stay healthy ok?!
