NZ Day 3: Lake Tekapo - Queenstown

Good morning Lake Tekapo.
We brought Hot Cup from Malaysia! Haha.. talking about cost down. :)
But having hot cup in front of such an amazing view. It has been compensated back.
After having light breakfast, we start our journey to Queenstown. A 3.5hour journey.
30 minute from Lake Tekapo brings us to Lake Pukaki Visitor Center.
And they sell fresh salmon sashimi. We bought a box which cost $10.
It's so fresh and sweet. Indescribable. Nice!
The view at Lake Pukaki Visitor Center. If the weather was not too cold, we could have enjoyed our sashimi on that bench.
We then stop by another Salmon Farm.
It amaze me that Salmon was actually breed this way. In a pond, using lake water from the mountain.

We had Salmon Quiche. $5.
After filled ourselves with Salmon, we drive straight to Queenstown and check in to YHA.
And had our lunch at Flames Bar & Grill as introduced by a friend.
We opt for Grilled Chicken Salad. $17. The portion is very big!
We also had the famous pork ribs. $15. Yums!
We then went to Skyline Queenstown.
Experience the luge ride.
Going up with this. It's fun despite quite scary.
The luge.
Queenstown from up above.
We waited for the sky to turn dark for our stargazing tour.
It's freezing cold but the jacket provided is very good!
It's too cloudy that night. We only able to have a view on Mars, Moon and a few stars but not the milky way. Thus, they refunded half of the ticket price! :)

NZ Day 2: Lake Tekapo

Day 2. A day to start our road trip.
Our first drive in NZ is a 3 hour drive from Christchurch to Lake Tekapo.
Christchurch town.
Leaving the town and out to sub-urban.
View along the route.
And mostly cows and sheeps.
We arrive Lake Tekapo on lunch time and had our meal at Kohan Japanese Restaurant as introduce by friend.
The restaurant is operate by Japanese. And they have a great view out from the restaurant.
I had salmon roll which cost $12.
He had Kohan Bento Box which cost $26. The salmon is so fresh!
The view through out the lunch :)
We then head to Mt. John Observatory for tea time.
Tea with an amazing view.
Mt. John Observatory. They do offer tours for stars and universe gazing at night.
We thought to stargaze on our own but the sky is too cloudy. No luck.
View from our tea time.
The famous Church of the Good Shepherd.
We then head back to check in YHA Lake Tekapo before head out for dinner.
It was 5 degree with light snow snowflakes. Very cold!
We had Salmon Pizza. Cost $26.
Yes. It is salmon everyday in NZ.

NZ Day 1: Christchurch

We took Air Asia to Sydney; stayed one night in Sydney before leaving for Christchurch with Air New Zealand.
I like Air New Zealand! Friendly staffs with free entertainment, drinks and foods :)
Arriving Christchurch at 3.10pm.
Immigration check in airport took some time.
We then collect our car rental, which I booked from Apex with rate of $38/day.
Although the car is very compact, but it has serves us well for 7 days.
After driving around Christchurch town, we then check in to our lodge, Alcala Motor Lodge.
I love this lodge too. Every necessity is available and the bed has heater! :)
Had our dinner before we call it a day. Day turns dark as early as 6.30pm in NZ. Shops closed about 5pm and there is nothing much can be done in the quiet city.
Fish fillet and fish fillet burger that we bought from random fish & chips takeaway shop. Cost $9.6.

New Zealand 11 Day 10 Night

One off the wishlist.
I'd been struggling to choose my honeymoon vacation; either Europe or New Zealand.
After doing the calculation, the cost is almost the same.
And finally I opt for New Zealand hoping for a relax trip :)

Transit in Sydney. Sydney is an expensive city.
Christchurch. Still with debris from the earthquake.
Everyday is Salmon day in NZ.
 Luge ride.
 Queenstown from the top :)
 Stargazing.
 Wine cave.
 Calm lake. Reflections.
 Peaceful town.
 On top of the mountain.
 Blue pool.
And back to the hectic Sydney city before back to KL.

Although I had been sick throughout the trip due to tiredness from the post-wedding and also from the cold weather in NZ; nevertheless, this is a very very nice and relax trip. Perhaps I should go back someday but not in winter. :)
