Acme Bar & Coffee, The Troika

ABC. Had been wanted to come here for a date long ago.
But never had the chance until the other day :)

Love the double volume height with glass windows all the way down.
The natural lights + the smells of the coffee makes me relax :)
But we didn't order coffee anyway. Haha..
We opt to try out Pomegranate Cranberry Juice RM13.
Nah.. the pure pomegranate cold press juice taste much better.
Duck Pasta RM37. This was OK. But the price was on the higher side.
The famous sizzling brownie RM19.
I think it's been a culture that everyone wanted to have a shot of the chocolate being poured onto the sizzling brownie. The waiter asked me "are you ready?" before pouring it down. Haha..
This tasted real good. Not too sweet.
But after ate almost half of the cake, I started to feel queasy.
It's good to have some one share this with you.

Restoran Robson Heights @ KL

Located at foot hill of Thean Hou Temple, I believe this restaurant is always one of the best option for ROM appreciation lunch. We too opt for this restaurant as it is the most convenient.
To cater for 10, we had ordered..
Their signature claypot crab rice. RM65. With one crab in it.
Sad to say, the rice does not have the taste I had expected (crab juice taste?). It's just like any other normal claypot rice. The crab was very fresh though.
Tofu RM20. Nothing to shout about.
Pork ribs RM49. This cost RM7/ ribs and we had 7 ribs.
Another signature dish of them. Meat floss brinjal RM25.
And this fish cost RM99. I actually had no idea what fish is this. LOL.
But it was very fresh and the meat was very tender. Nice.

Overall, this meal for 10 cost RM295.50. Which is not too expensive but not too cheap either.

The Ship @ Damansara Utama

Another celebration in April.
This time, we choose The Ship for a nostalgic day.
Smoked Salmon Salad.
Russian Chicken
Grilled chicken fillet garnished with vodka bechamel sauce, served with french fries and vegetables
Seafood Au Gratin
A combination of mixed seafood, baked with cheese and bechamel wine sauce, served with baked potato and mini salad
Chicken Au Chambertin
Grilled chicken fillet garnished with mushroom and red wine sauce, served with french fries and vegetables

I couldn't recall the price anymore but as I remember, it is not as cheap as I thought it was. And the food taste was so-so only. The environment and ambiance is awesome though. Nostalgic feel.

.:Xiao Fei Yang @ Jalan Pudu:.

Another deals grab from living social. 50% discount voucher which I trade RM30 for a RM60 cash voucher.
Although being informed earlier that eating here is not cheap, first thing that shock me was this set of cutleries cost RM1 for the hygienic packing. The soup itself cost RM20. This is herbal clear soup. Yummy! I don't know am I imagining or what, but I can taste the lamb gamey-ness in it. Nevertheless, the soup is nice enough to be on it's own.
2 plates of pork slice. RM9/ plate. Super a lot. I regretted we ordered 2 plates.
Ramen RM4.
Fish slices RM10.
Vegie RM4. Homemade fishball RM9. Fish ball with bean curd skin RM6.

Total damage was RM83.60. Using the RM60 cash voucher, we paid only RM23.60; which by fact, we paid RM53.60 for this meal. Not too bad. The portion was large, don't worry that you might ordered too less. Order first and add on if you find you are not full yet. Or else, you might end up wasting foods like us.

::LYJ Restaurant @ Sg. Buloh::

LYJ Restaurant. I'd been brought here twice due to work, and I found that the dishes are quite special. During the last CNY, the colleagues had proposed to come here for the famous 'Pun Choy', but we didn't manage to get the booking, thus skipped it. And now, when the BF ask to suggest some special place for family, I suggested here :)
Note that the price might be above average, but still worth a try.
Ginseng soup in teapot RM26. We find this method to be unique as the tea pot can help to keep the soup warm, thus we don't need to immediately finish the soup once it is serve.
By this way, slowly drinking the soup one cup by one cup, you won't feel too full too fast.
This is the meats taken out from the tea pot.
Steamed tilapia RM32. From testing, we conclude that this fish is soaked in hot salt water before steaming, as we find that the salty taste is well distributed. Not sure about that though. The specialty of this fish is actually the green sauce. Tasted a bit of sweet, sour and spicy, it is really appetizing. Somehow, I felt that this dishes is too pricey.
Braised pork ribs RM24. This is nice too!
Paku pakis salad RM15. The specialty of this is it's cold (it's a salad, of course), and the sour taste is appetizing. But also, it's overpriced.

As I mentioned, this place is quite pricey, but it's worth a try. We agreed that the dishes are special in a way.

::Gerai Makan Japanese BBQ @ Taman Desa, KL::

I was hunting for nice foods recommendations on the web and I found this out.
From pictures posted by those food-bloggers, this place attracted me. It somehow looks so special, a scene I always seen in Japanese drama.
So I drag the bf out to hunt this place out. We have some difficulties looking for this place as it is hidden.
To be easy, just search for Fisherman's Wharf in your GPS. Park your car and walk to the alley behind the shop lots. It is hidden behind there! And we are lucky to found it when we almost giving up.

Charcoal BBQ.
Pork Loin RM10
Pork Belly RM10
Vegies RM5
DIY.
Risotto RM6
Ramen RM12

Basically it is special yet nothing special. I enjoyed the BBQ session but the fact that we can do this on our own at home which would be more cost saving just dampen the mood. Well .. nothing wrong to try out new things once a while. Something you called "pay to eat for the sake of the environment/ mood". :)

::Senjyu Sushi @ e@Curve::

Here is my another Groupon purchase. 60% off: Assorted Sashimi OR Seafood Tempura Set for RM13.90 instead of RM34.80. With 1749 people bought this voucher, we had some minor problem with our reservation and end up having it at quite an odd time.
The entrance, environment and ambiance always give me this feeling that Senjyu must be one of the fine dining Japanese restaurant. So when Groupon giving out offer, I must grab it!

We ordered Rainbow Maki RM28 as our snack :)
Yummy! :)
And here come our voucher redemption. Assorted Seafood Tempura Set.
And assorted sashimi set.
For tempura set, the rice is warm and for sashimi set, the rice is cold (some kind like sushi rice).
To be frank, the presentation of the bento kinda disappointed me.
For tempura set - consists more of vegie tempura.
For sashimi set - the slices looks too thin and only 4 types.
And when I dig into the rice, it only consists of a thin layer of rice.
Same for both set.
Oh well.. I can't complaint much as this is discounted set. But hey.. since you gave the discount, shouldn't it be the same portion as the un-discounted? Maybe I should just assume that the un-discounted set contains the same portion as well. If that is the case, well .. uh-huh .. it's quite pricey huh?!
I am disappointed with the service as well. I only have one cup of ocha. The waitress was 'too busy' to refill for us even though we had requested several time. Same goes to when we requested for our bill. Perhaps we should have just leave without paying.

::Ole Ole Bali @ Sunway Pyramid::

I had been here several times too! LOL!
This time I bring the bf here for a 'candle light fine dining of nasi campur'. Next time I will just bring him to the REAL candle lite nasi campur - by the road side.
How romantic..
The music and decoration brings back the feel of Bali.
Mojito Lemongrass RM13 .. I always ordered this here.
Ice blended honey dew with mint and honey RM11. Yummy!~
Nasi Campur RM35 - you will get a small bowl of white rice, satay ikan, rendang ayam, chili kangkung, grilled squids and prawns (yummy!) and grilled fish. 2 of us shared this. It's not fulfilling enough to share this but will be too much if we ordered one more extra dish.
